BDO Savings Account Requirements

BDO is one of the most established and well-known banks in the Philippines. It offers several savings accounts to suit every Filipino financial needs. If you are planning to open a savings account in BDO it is essential to first know all the BDO savings account requirements to avoid hassle and easily apply for your chosen savings account. Sometimes BDO savings account requirements varies from different branches. I will be sharing all the BDO savings account requirements based on my research and personal experience when applying for their savings account. You can also call the BDO branch near you to ask for the complete BDO savings account requirements on their branch to ensure that when you go there they can easily process your application.

Here are the Requirements in opening a BDO savings account ( ATM/Passbook):

1. Two (2) Valid ID's ( Ensure at-least one photo bearing and other valid ID's). Below are the list of  BDO accepted valid ID's.

1. School or Company ID

2. Driver's License ID

3. Passport

4. Unified ID ( SSS, GSIS or PhilHealth )

5. Postal ID

6. Voter's ID

7. PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) ID

9. TIN card (photo-bearing card type)

10. All other Id's issued by the Philippine government and its instrumentalities.

  • Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ID
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Firearms License
  • IBP ID
  • DSWD ID (Senior Citizen ID)
  • NBI Clearance
  • Police Clearance
  • Barangay Clearance/Certificate
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Birth Certificate  

Note: ID's should be:

  • The Original Copy
  • Unexpired
  • Issued by an Official Authority 
  • Photo-bearing

2.  Initial Deposit (depending on your chosen BDO savings account product)

Here are the Types of BDO Savings Account, Initial Deposit and Maintaining Balance:

Peso Passbook Savings Account: Initial Deposit 5,000 pesos & 10,000 Maintaining Balance
Peso ATM: 2,000 pesos Initial Deposit & Maintaining Balance
Optimum Peso Savings Account Personal: 30,000 pesos Initial Deposit & Maintaining Balance
Junior Savings Account: 100 pesos Initial Deposit & Maintaining Balance
Power Teens Club Account: 2,000 pesos Initial Deposit & Maintaining Balance
Prime Saver's Account: 2,000 pesos Initial Deposit & Maintaining Balance
Direct Deposit Peso Savings Account:  Zero Initial Deposit & Maintaining Balance

3. Two (2) pieces of 1x1 pictures.
