The interest of the European companies in the Philippines tends to increase with each coming day. And the UK-based fintech start-up Bank4You has also looked up at this direction. This company was established in 2014. Regardless to its brief history, B4U managed to get serious partners on the line – the VISA cards are issued by the “Royal Bank of Scotland”; and these cards are processed by Cashflows, one of the biggest processing centers in the United Kingdom. Besides, the B4U Student Card is quite well-known at the European market of financial digital solutions. Effective Ways to Save Money as a Student in Philippines

Effective Ways to Save Money as a Student in Philippines

As a student the best way to buy and do your wants is to save money since you don't have any source of income. It's a typical scenario that a student is begging extra money from their parents, are you one of them? If yes, then you should start saving and take note of the most effective ways to save money as a student in the Philippines. In this post, I round up the most effective and best way on how to save money as a student in the Philippines.

Best Ways to Save Money as a Student in Philippines

1. Buy in Bulk - One way you can save money as a student is to buy in bulk. For example, when buying pad paper it is less expensive to buy one pad or two rather than buying per piece. Also, to those who are living in an apartment or board spacing it is way better to buy your toothpaste, soap, shampoo, snacks and other stuff in large volume to avoid going out and spending much money.

2. Open a Savings Account - I know that as a student, opening a savings account is not your priority but having one will be a great help in  handling your money and will surely help you in the future. Saving is one essential thing to consider specially when emergency arise, at-least you have money to cover the expenses rather than incurring debt.

3. Borrow Books - If you know someone who has similar or related major like yours then try asking them if you can borrow their books. Buying books now is very expensive specially college/preference books so as far as possible try borrowing books to save money.

4. Buy Second Hand Books - Other alternative way that will save you some bucks is to buy second hand books. Today, it is now very easy to purchase second hand books, try looking through sites like Instagram, Facebook and OXL. You can find second hand books there in good condition and some are as good as new.

5. Have a Budget Plan - Creating a budget will save you big. Make sure that you stick to  your budget plan. There are a lot that created a budget plan but having a hard time to stick with it which is make their budget plan useless.

6. Live Below Your Means - Being a student, you should practice living below your means. Meaning don't buy or live in a lifestyle you can't afford. I can observe that most millennials are more into a social climbing lifestyle which is very unhealthy and will just make them broke. If you can buy unbranded clothes and basic phone then go for it rather than buying those branded products .

7.  Cut Out Your Vices - As a student, having vices is not a good and cool thing since you're spending your parents money not yours. The common vices now to most students are clubbing and playing computer games, rather than wasting your time to these kind of stuff why not spend it studying and reward your parents with high grades.

8. Avoid Going to Malls - Going to malls will just result to impulsive buying specially when you have some money in your pocket. As much as you can just go to the mall when you have something to buy and avoid roaming around to avoid temptation of spending to something that you don't really need.

9.  Bring/Make your Own Baon - I know you can observe that foods in canteens are a bit expensive than bringing your own foods. If you have some skills in cooking then this is the best time to apply it.

10. Walking to School - If your house or apartment is near the school better walk aside from saving its a good exercise as well. Make sure you have with your umbrella to protect you from rain or heat.
